The custom of Golu: Steps of tales and togetherness

Throughout Tamil Nadu, Navratri is incomplete with out Golu. Steps are arrange in odd numbers — three, 5, seven, or 9 — and full of dolls constructed from clay, mud, or papier-mâché. Every figurine represents a fraction of folklore, storytelling, or every day life, collectively making a vibrant narrative of tradition and celebration.
