Cyclone Shakti to weaken within the Arabian Sea, IMD predicts scattered rainfall in Mumbai


Cyclone Shakti, which gained momentum within the Arabian Sea with wind speeds touching 100 kmph since Saturday, is now forecasted to lose power from Monday morning.

The cyclone will start to recurve eastwards after reaching northwest and the west-central Arabian Sea by Sunday night, in response to the India Meteorological Division (IMD).

The extreme storm had prompted alerts alongside Maharashtra’s coast, together with Mumbai. Nevertheless, altering wind patterns and a shift in its trajectory have introduced reduction to the town

The IMD on Sunday stated that Mumbai is unlikely to obtain heavy and even average rainfall over the following few days, which is opposite to earlier warnings.
