Defying all odds to earn her place, Asha Kandara, a sanitary employee in Jodhpur Municipal Company (North), grew to become a deputy collector at Jodhpur Nagar Nigam.

A single mom to 2 kids, she was deserted by her husband after a five-year-long marriage. To make ends meet, she began working as a sweeper on the streets.

The mayor Kunti Deora Parihar of the JMC says: “As a sanitary employee, she [Asha] struggled to make ends meet. She labored in a neighborhood of sweepers, and schooling isn’t all the time a precedence for them.”

However Asha determined to check once more to create a good life for her kids.

So, after her separation, she accomplished her commencement and ready for the Rajasthan Administration Companies (RAS) examination, by way of which candidates are recruited for the executive equipment of the state authorities. And to realize this, she toiled throughout the day and studied within the evenings.

Asha appeared for the RAS examination in 2018 and needed to wait a very long time for the outcomes due to the pandemic. Lastly, on 15 July, 2021, Asha learnt that she had cracked the examination and ranked 728th.

“On the day of the outcomes, I noticed my identify on the record. My happiness knew no bounds. My humiliation gave me the energy to change into one thing in life and provides a befitting reply to society,” says Asha.
